  1. 2 lbs chicken (cut to medium size pieces)

  2. 5 cups rice

  3. 8-9 cups water

  4. 5 tsp oil

  5. pulao ingredients:

  6. (4 bay leaves

  7. 4 cardamom

  8. 4 cloves

  9. 1 tsp saunf

  10. 1/2 inch cinnamon stick

  11. 2 mace flowers

  12. 3 capers

  13. 1 star anise )

  14. 1 onion finely sliced

  15. 2 tsp mint leaves (finely chopped)

  16. 2-3 green chilllies(slit)

  17. salt to taste

  18. 1 tsp lemon juice

  19. For the masala:

  20. (1/2 sliced onion , 3-4 green chilles, 11/2 inch sliced ginger , 5 garlic cloves , 2 tsp coriander powder , 3 cloves ,1 inch cinnamon , 2 tsp shredded coconut , 1 tsp coriander leaves , grind all with water to from a thick paste)

  21. 1 tsp curd ,

  22. 1 tsp lemon juice ,

  23. 1/2 tsp salt ,

  24. 2 pinch turmeric powder , cover it and refrigerate for an hour.

  1. Wash and soak the rice for 1 hour, drain and keep aside.

  2. Heat oil in a pan cooker, add pulao ingredients and fry for a minute.

  3. Add chopped onion and fry till golden.

  4. Add chicken and heat for 5 minutes, add mint leaves, slit chilles, 1/2 tsp salt and fry for 5 minutes.

  5. Add the masala and fry for about 10 minutes,(till masala completely cooks).

  6. Now add water and salt and heat till water boils.

  7. Add rice and stir.

  8. Add lemon juice, mix well and close the lid.

  9. pressure cook for 1 whistle, simmer for 5 minutes and turn off the stove.

  10. Allow to cool, mix the rice well and serve.
