  1. 1/2 tbsp Cream of Tartar

  2. 3 tbsp Ground Cinnamon

  3. 1 tbsp Baking Powder

  4. 1 tsp Aniseed (grounded)

  5. 6 cups All-Purpose Flour

  6. 2 Eggs

  7. 1/4 cup Orange Juice

  8. 1/2 tsp Salt

  9. 1 cup White Sugar

  10. 2-1/2 cups Shortening

  11. How to make Mexican Sugar Cookies:

  12. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  13. Beat 2-1/2 cups shortening until fluffy.

  14. Add anise seed and sugar, mix until creamy, also add eggs and blends well.

  15. Add cream of tartar, salt, flour, baking power and orange juice; mix well.

  16. Knead dough until it turns smooth and roll it to 1/2 inch thick.

  17. Using a cookie cutter cut into different shapes.

  18. 5 to 8 minutes.

  19. Roll cookies in mixture of cinnamon and sugar while still warm. Serve.
