  2. 1 lb 454g / 16oz Ground veal

  3. 1 lb 454g / 16oz Ground pork

  4. 1/4 cup 15g / 1/2oz Flour

  5. 1 tablespoon 15ml Salt

  6. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Pepper

  7. 4 Eggs

  8. 1/2 cup 118ml Light cream or half & half

  9. 1 cup 237ml Milk

  10. 1 cup 62g / 2 1/5oz Onion - chopped (large)

  11. 1 tablespoon 15ml Butter or shortening

  12. Beer Rice

  13. 2 1/2 tablespoons 37ml Olive oil

  14. 1 cup 160g / 5.6oz Raw long grain rice

  15. 10 3/4 oz 305g Condensed onion soup

  16. 10 3/4 oz 305g Beer

  1. ** Meatball Cakes ** Brown onions in butter or shortening for 5 minutes, set aside to cool. In a large bowl place the ground meats. Using an electric beater on low speed, add the flour, salt, pepper, then the eggs one at a time, then the cream and milk. Finally add the onions, mixing all well. Shape into 6-8 oval cakes. Fry on both sides about 30 minutes or bake uncovered for 45 minutes in a preheated 350oF oven ** Beer Rice ** Heat oil over medium heat. Add rice and brown lightly stirring constantly. Add soup and beer, stir well. Sover tightly and simmer until all liquid is abosrbed, about 25 minutes.
