  1. 1 1/2kg potatoes, boiled and cooled

  2. 3 hard-boiled eggs, peeled

  3. 150g smoked pork belly, sliced thinly by the butcher

  4. 150g soured cream

  5. salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

  6. butter for the baking dish

  1. Grease an ovenproof dish and heat the oven to 220 C / Gas 7.

  2. Cut potatoes and eggs into slices, and place them and the pork belly pieces in layers into the dish. Top with a layer of potatoes, adding salt and pepper with every layer.

  3. Finally, mix the soured cream with a tablespoon or two of water and pour over the potatoes.

  4. Bake in preheated oven for about an hour.
