  1. 2 cups green split peas

  2. 8 cups water or vegetable broth

  3. 3 vegetarian bouillon cubes

  4. 2 potatoes, chopped

  5. 2 ribs celery, chopped

  6. 2 carrots, sliced

  7. 1 onion, diced

  8. 2 cloves garlic, minced

  9. 1 tsp dry mustard

  10. 1 tsp cumin

  11. 1 tsp sage

  12. 1 tsp thyme

  13. 3 bay leaves

  14. salt and pepper to taste

  1. Combine all ingredients in a crock pot or slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for at least 4 hours, or until peas are soft.

  2. Remove bay leaves before serving.

  3. Makes 8 servings of soup.
