  1. 100 g unsalted butter

  2. 1 tbsp vanilla , powder

  3. 7 tbsp icing sugar

  4. 4 egg whites

  5. 1 whole egg

  6. 100 g flour

  1. Preheat oven to about 180C/160C fan/gas 4.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine butter, vanilla powder and icing sugar. Whip the mixture to a creamy and fluffy consistency.

  3. Gradually add the egg whites and whole egg to the mixture and continue stirring until fully combined.

  4. Slowly add the flour and mix well until fluffy and uniform in texture.

  5. Place the mixture into a piping bag and squeeze out approximately 6cm long strips (about 6cm apart) onto a greased baking tray. The strips will flatten and expand, in the oven, into the shape of a ‘cat’s tongue’.

  6. Bake for approximately 6 minutes or until golden.
