  1. 8 oz 227g Lean joint of beef

  2. 4 oz 113g Mushrooms

  3. 1 oz 28g Bacon or some bacon rind

  4. 1 tablespoon 15ml Fat

  5. 1 tablespoon 15ml Flour

  6. 1 Gill sour milk

  7. 1 Onion (medium)

  8. 1 Pepper

  9. 1 teaspoon 5ml Salt

  1. Put piece of beef in hot fat. Add peeled and sliced mushrooms, chopped onions and seasonings.

  2. Fry these for a few minutes before adding 1/2 cup water. Put the lid on and let it cook slowly, until meat is tender.

  3. Remove meat and cut it on board into slices about 1/4 inch thick. Add flour to the pan in which the meat was cooked, stir well and add the sour milk.

  4. Arrange the slices of meat on a dish, and pour thick gravy over it before serving.

  5. Garnish with boiled macaroni.
