  1. 2 slices rye bread

  2. 2 slices white bread

  3. 1 cup water

  4. 453 g ground beef

  5. 1 medium onion, peeled and finely chopped

  6. 1 large egg

  7. 3 tbsp. grated parmesan cheese

  8. 2 tbsp. minced fresh parsley leaves

  9. 1 tsp. salt

  10. 1/4 tsp. pepper

  11. 224 g can tomato sauce

  12. 1 tsp. dried oregano

  1. Preheat the onion to 375 degrees. Grease the inside of a 9x3 inch loaf pan. Combine the rye and white bread slices in a large bowl and pour the water over. Let the bread soak 5 minutes. Drain off any excess water and mash the bread well with a fork. Add the beef, onion, egg, Parmesan, parsley, salt and pepper and mix well. Pat the meatloaf mixture into the prepared pan. Bake the meatloaf 30 minutes. Pour the tomato sauce over the top and sprinkle with the oregano. Bake the meatloaf an additional 20 minutes until the temperature reaches 160 degrees. Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let stand 5 minutes before removing from the pan and serving.
