  1. 220g butter, softened

  2. 200g light brown soft sugar

  3. 100g caster sugar

  4. 2 eggs

  5. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  6. 200g plain flour

  7. 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda

  8. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  9. 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

  10. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  11. 250g rolled oats

  12. 150g sultanas or raisins

  1. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas mark 4.

  2. Bake 10 to 12 minutes until light and golden. Do not overbake. Let them cool for 2 minutes before removing from trays to cool completely. Store in airtight container. Make sure you get some, because they don't last long!
