First take the chicken pieces in a bowl
Add ginger-garlic-green chili paste
Put lemon juice and tomato paste
Put biryani powder, red chili powder, garam masala, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt
Add the coriander leaves and mix altogether with the chicken pieces very well
Leave it to marinate for ½ hour
Fry chopped onions till golden brown in color
Now add the marinated chicken with the fried onions
Cook the chicken in low flame
Boil for few minutes and keep on stirring in between
Add the marinate water masala with the chicken
Mix it well and cover the pan to cook for few more minutes
The chicken is ready
Now start to make the rice
Heating up 1tbsp oil in a deep bottom fry pan
Add chopped onions, bay leaf, cardamom, cinnamon and cloves
Fry for a minute and now add the mint leaves
Fry till the onions become translucent
Now pour water
Put salt as per taste
When the water starts boiling add the rice
Half cook the rice
Now drain the water from the rice
Add the rice with the chicken
Add food color and saffron water
Sprinkle garam masala
Put few mint leaves over the rice
Now cover the pan
Put a tawa on low flame
Put the pan with chicken and rice on the tawa
Cook for few more minutes till the rice cooks completely
Serve the chicken biryani with fried potatoes and cucumber carrot raita
