  1. 1/4 cup 59ml Bulgur wheat

  2. 1 lb 454g / 16oz Ground lamb

  3. 1/2 cup 118ml Snipped parsley

  4. 2 tablespoons 30ml Finely chopped onion

  5. 1 tablespoon 15ml Dry red wine

  6. 1 Garlic - minced

  7. 1/8 teaspoon 0.6ml Dried mint - crushed

  8. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Ground allspice

  9. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Salt

  10. Pita bread

  11. Lettuce leaves

  12. Chopped cucumber

  13. Plain yogurt

  1. Soak bulgur wheat in warm water for 1 hour; drain well.

  2. Combine bulgur with ground lamb, parsley, onion, red wine, garlic, mint, allspice and salt.

  3. Shape into patties and grill over medium coals for 16-18 minutes or until done.

  4. Serve with pita bread, lettuce, cucumber and yogurt.
