  1. 2 cups fresh basil leaves

  2. 2 garlic cloves, chopped

  3. 1/4 (2 ounces) pine nuts

  4. Salt and pepper

  5. 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

  6. 1/2 cup olive oil

  1. Place the basil, garlic, pine nuts and 1/2 teaspoon salt in the food processor, grind into a paste. Add the cheese and grind until thoroughly blended. With the machine running slowly add the oil. Adjust the seasonings. Pour into a bowl.

  2. Yield : 1 generous cup
