  1. 250 gm rice (soak in water)

  2. cup moong dal (soak in water)

  3. 1 cup mix vegetables (French beans, cauliflower, carrot)

  4. 1tsp mustard seeds

  5. 1tsp cumin seeds

  6. 2 red chilies (dri/chopped)

  7. 4 curry leaves

  8. 2 onions (chopped)

  9. 1/2tsp ginger paste

  10. 1/2tsp garlic paste

  11. lemons (juice)

  12. 2 tomatoes (medium size/chopped)

  13. 1tsp red chili powder

  14. 2tsp salt

  15. 1/2tsp turmeric powder

  16. 1/2tsp cumin powder

  17. 1/4tsp garam masala

  18. 2tbsp oil

  19. 1/2liter water

  20. Cilantro leaves (for garnishing)

  1. Heating up water in a deep bottom pan in a pan in one oven

  2. In other oven heating up oil

  3. Put mustard seeds, red chili and curry leaves when the oil is hot enough

  4. Add cumin seeds

  5. Fry for a minute

  6. Now add chopped onions and cook till the onions are soft

  7. Now add the ginger and garlic paste

  8. Cook till the raw smell goes

  9. Add the chopped tomatoes now

  10. Now add the mix vegetables

  11. Mix altogether well

  12. Cook for a minute

  13. Now add the moong dal and rice

  14. Mix altogether well

  15. Put turmeric power, red chili powder, cumin powder, garam masala and salt

  16. Mix altogether well and cook for a minute

  17. Now add 1/2liter of boiled water

  18. Leave it to cook for few minutes

  19. Kichdi is ready now

  20. Garnish it with cilantro leaves

  21. Vegetable kichdi is ready to be served
