  4. 1 lb. carrots, cleaned and sliced diagonally

  5. Onion 1 Medium , sliced

  6. Coriander 1/2 Teaspoon

  7. Turmeric 1 Teaspoon

  8. Ground ginger 1/2 Teaspoon

  9. 1 cup Brand Rice

  12. Cayenne pepper 1 /8 Teaspoon (Spiced Rice:)

  13. Water 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) (Spiced Rice:)

  14. 1 small head cauliflower broken into flowerets

  15. Water 1 /2 Cup (16 tbs) (Spiced Rice:)

  16. Cornstarch 2 Teaspoon (Spiced Rice:)

  17. Spiced Rice

  18. Walnuts 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) , chopped (Spiced Rice:)

  19. Seedless raisins 1 /3 Cup (16 tbs) (Spiced Rice:)

  20. Cinnamon 1 /4 Teaspoon (Spiced Rice:)

  21. Ground cloves 1/8 Teaspoon (Spiced Rice:)

  1. Directions Mash salt and garlic together.

  2. Melt butter or margarine in a large saucepan.

  3. Add carrots, onion and salt-garlic mixture.

  4. Stir and heat through.

  5. Add coriander, turmeric, ginger and cayenne pepper; stir.

  6. Add 1/2 cup water and cover.

  7. Cook over low heat about 10 minutes.

  8. Add cauliflower and stir.

  9. Cover.

  10. Cook until vegetables are tender, about 10 minutes longer.

  11. Combine 1/2 cup water and cornstarch.

  12. Stir until free of lumps.

  13. Add to vegetables.

  14. Heat and stir until liquid is thickened.
