  2. 2 cinnamon sticks, broken in half

  3. 3 cups milk

  4. 5 tsp. instant espresso or coffee powder

  5. 8 ounces chopped semisweet chocolate

  6. 3 tbsp. brandy

  7. whipped cream

  8. ground cinnamon

  1. Combine cinnamon sticks, milk and coffee or espresso powder in a medium saucepan. Heat to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Discard cinnamon sticks. Whisk in chocolate until melted. Whisk in brandy. Divide the hot chocolate between mugs. Garnish with dollops of whipped cream. Sprinkle with cinnamon and serve.
