  1. 2 (12-ounce) packages frozen escalloped apples, defrosted according to package directions

  2. 1 package (9-inch) double crust pie pastry

  3. 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  4. 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  5. 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  6. 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  7. 2 tablespoons milk

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. Place 1 pastry in 9-inch pie plate. Combine escalloped apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg; spoon into shell.

  3. Place remaining pastry on top of apple mixture; seal and flute edges. Cut slashes in pastry. Brush pastry lightly with milk; sprinkle with additional sugar.

  4. Bake for 50 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
