  2. 2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  3. 1 tbsp. baking powder

  4. 1 tsp. salt

  5. 3/4 cup butter, cubed

  6. 1/2 cup chopped fresh dill

  7. 1 tsp. cracked fennel seeds

  8. 6 tbsp. milk

  1. Cooking Procedures :

  2. Preheat oven to 425°F. Prepare an ungreased baking sheet.

  3. Sift flour, baking powder and salt into a large bowl. Cut in butter and sprinkle with dill and fennel. Work dough with your fingers until mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

  4. Add milk and mix with a fork or your fingers until dough just forms a ball. Do not overmix, or biscuits will be tough.

  5. Place dough on a floured board and knead for 1 minute. Roll or pat out until 3/4 inch thick. Cut into 3 inch rounds and arrange onto prepared sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden.

  6. Makes about 12 scones.
