  1. 400 gm chicken

  2. 8 cup chicken stock

  3. 1 kg rice (soak in water)

  4. 4 garlic flakes

  5. 1 piece ginger

  6. 3 green chilies

  7. 4 onions

  8. 4tbsp oil

  9. 1 bay leaf

  10. Salt as per taste

  11. 1tsp garam masala

  12. 1tbsp lemon juice

  13. 1/2tsp turmeric powder

  14. 2tbsp coriander leaves (chopped)

  15. 3 tomatoes (chopped)

  16. 1tbsp ginger paste

  17. 1tbsp garlic paste

  1. First boil the chicken pieces in enough water with salt

  2. Cover the bowl and cook for 10 minutes

  3. Now separate the chicken stock from the chicken

  4. Heating up little bit of oil in pan

  5. Fry the chopped onions along with the bay leaves

  6. In the same time make a paste with the ginger, garlic and 1green chili

  7. Now take the chicken pieces in a bowl

  8. Add salt and garam masala with them

  9. Now add the masala paste and lemon juice

  10. Put turmeric powder and mix altogether well

  11. Marinate the chicken for 30 minutes

  12. When the onions are done add the ginger and garlic paste and cook for a minute

  13. Then add the tomatoes

  14. Pour yogurt and coriander leaves

  15. Put little bit of salt

  16. Mix them well

  17. Cook for a minute

  18. Make a paste with red chilies, black cardamom, star anise, jaitri, cumin seeds

  19. Add the masala now and mix well

  20. Cook them till the oil separates from the masala

  21. Now pour the chicken stew

  22. Now cover it and let it boil

  23. In the same time shallow fry the chicken pieces

  24. The chicken pieces are now half cooked

  25. Now add the soaked rice in the boiling gravy

  26. When the rice is half done, slow the flame

  27. Put the tawa on the oven and keep the rice pan on the tawa

  28. Cover the pan

  29. Now put the chicken pieces on the top of the rice and spread them

  30. Cover the pan again and cook for at least 10 minutes

  31. Fried chicken yanki is ready to be served

  32. Try it with raita
