  1. 1 box chocolate cake mix

  2. 1-1/4 cups water

  3. 1/2 cup oil

  4. 3 eggs

  5. 30 small flat bottom cones

  6. Icing:

  7. 5 cups sifted powdered sugar

  8. 3/4 cup shortening

  9. 1/2 cup butter softened

  10. 2-1/2 tablespoons milk

  11. 1-1/4 teaspoon almond extract

  12. Assorted sprinkles and candies

  1. Preheat oven to 350.

  2. In large bowl combine first 4 ingredients according to cake mix package directions.

  3. Fill each cone with about 2-1/2 tablespoons batter.

  4. Place cones 3" apart on an ungreased baking sheet then bake 30 minutes and cool completely.

  5. For icing beat all ingredients together in large bowl until smooth.

  6. Ice each cupcake with about 1 tablespoon icing.

  7. Before icing hardens decorate with candy and/or sprinkles then store in airtight container.
