  1. Basmati rice - 2 cup

  2. Onion - 2

  3. Tomatoes (ripe) - 3

  4. Carrot - 1

  5. Potato - 1

  6. Green peas -1/2 cup

  7. Mint leaves- 1/4 cup

  8. coriander leaves - 1/4 cup

  9. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp

  10. Salt - to taste

  11. To paste:

  12. Shallots - 10

  13. Ginger (small piece) - 1

  14. Garlic - 6-8 cloves

  15. Dry red chillies - 3

  16. Coriander seeds - 2 tsp

  17. Cinnamon-2

  18. cloves 2

  19. Cardamom - 2

  20. Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp

  21. Curd (yoghurt) - 1/2 cup

  22. Poppy seeds - 1 tsp

  23. To season:

  24. Bay leaves - 2

  25. Oil - 2tsp

  26. Ghee 2 tsp

  1. Wash the rice and soak for ½ an hour.

  2. Paste the ingredients given and chop the vegetables.

  3. Chop onions length wise and tomatoes into fine pieces.

  4. In cooker heat oil and ghee, add bay leaves, onion and sauté well.

  5. To that add green chillies, paste and mix well till it loses its raw flavor.

  6. Add the vegetables, tomatoes, required salt, turmeric powder, curd, mint and coriander leaves and sauté well.

  7. Add the soaked rice with the water. Mix well.

  8. Close the cooker. Leave it till 1st whistle and allow it in sim for 5 mins and remove it from flame.
