  1. Fresh green peas (Not Frozen) - 1/2 cup

  2. Rice (Basmati) - 1 cup

  3. Bay leaves -3

  4. Cloves -3

  5. Cardamom(Green )- 3

  6. Green chilies - 3

  7. Ghee (or oil )- 3 tsp

  8. minced ginger and garlic 1 tsp.

  1. In a heavy bottom pan, heat ghee or oil.

  2. When the oil is hot, on medium heat add bay leaves, cardamom and cloves.

  3. After a minute add green chilies, minced ginger and garlic and fresh green peas(peeled), saute them for a minute.

  4. Add rice and salt saute them for 30 seconds to a minute.

  5. Add 1.5 cup of water to the rice. Cover and cook for 10 min on medium low.

  6. After10 min remove from heat and garnish with cilantro.

  7. Variations.

  8. Fry thinly sliced onion with a tsp of ghee/oil and add them to the pulao.

  9. or Add one small lemons juice to the pulao, when it is done.
