  1. A deep dish container:

  2. Water - 3/4 cup

  3. Whole milk - 1/2 cup (No other milk can be substituted (if you really want the taste of real chai))

  4. Black tea - 2 tbsp. (Tetley ‘s loose tea I am using it)

  5. Sugar - to taste

  6. Masalas:

  7. Grated Fresh ginger - 1 tsp

  8. Cloves - 2

  9. Cardamoms - 3

  10. cinnamon Powder a pinch

  1. In a mortar, crush the cloves, cardamom pods and pepper.

  2. Take a small saucepan, add water, crushed masalas, fresh grated ginger and bring to a boil.

  3. Remove the pan from the heat, cover and keep aside for 5 minutes.

  4. Take another sauce pan, add the milk and sugar to the pan and bring to a boil . Let it boil in simmer heat for few more minutes.

  5. Remove from the heat and add the tea. Cover and let sleep for 3 minutes.

  6. Stir the chai, strain it into am warmed teapot or directly into teacups.

  7. Enjoy with cookies and evening snacks.

  8. Note:

  9. DO NOT USE GREEN LEAF TEA, IT WILL RUIN THE TASTE.

  10. Always use fresh ginger (powder or prepackaged cannot be substituted)

  11. Optional items: You can use fresh green soanph powder (green dried, not roasted)

  12. For those who prefer to drink chai without milk, the portion is replaced with water.
