  1. 8 ounces cream cheese softened

  2. 1/3 cup sugar granulated

  3. 1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet)

  5. 2 squares chocolate unsweetened unsweetened, melted

  6. 1/3 cup vegetable oil

  7. 1 1/4 cups flour, all-purpose

  8. 1 cup sugar granulated

  9. 3/4 cup water

  10. 1 each egg

  11. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  12. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  13. 1/4 teaspoon salt

  1. FILLING:

  2. Heat oven to 350.

  3. Beat cream cheese, 1/3 cup granulated sugar and 1 egg til smooth.

  4. Stir in chips; set aside.

  5. Beat melted chocolate, oil, flour, 1 cup granulated sugar, water, 1 egg, vanilla, baking soda, and salt in large bowl with wire whisk or fork until blended and smooth.

  6. Spoon 1/2 the batter evenly into 18 greased or paper-lined muffin cups.

  7. Top each with 1 tbsp of the cream cheese mixture.

  8. Spoon the remaining batter evenly over cream cheese mixture.

  9. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or til toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.

  10. Remove from pans to cool on wire racks.

  11. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
