  3. 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

  4. 2 shallots -- chopped

  5. 2 garlic cloves -- chopped

  6. 2 teaspoons chili garlic sauce

  7. 1/2 cup whipping cream

  8. 1/4 cup sake

  9. 1/4 cup fresh lime juice

  10. **CRAB CAKES**

  11. 1 1/2 cups fresh white breadcrumbs

  12. 8 ounces fresh crabmeat -- picked over

  13. 1/3 cup green onions -- chopped

  14. 1/4 cup fresh cilantro -- chopped

  15. 1 large egg

  16. 2 tablespoons water

  17. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  1. For Sauce:

  2. Heat oil in heavy medium skillet over medium low heat. Add shallots and garlic and saute until tender, about 5 minutes. Add chili galic sauce and stir one minute.

  3. Add cream, sake and lime juice. Simmer until sauce is slightly thickened about 7 minutes.

  4. For Crabcakes:

  5. Mix first 4 ingredients in medium bowl. Season with salt and pepper.

  6. Whisk egg and 2 Tsp water in small bowl. Stir 2 Tbsp egg mixture into crab mixture (which will be dry). Discard remaining egg.

  7. Form crab mixture into four 2 1/2-3 inch round patties, using about 1/2 cupful for each.

  8. Heat oil in heavy large skillet over medium high heat. Add crab cakes and saute until golden brown, about 4 minutes per side. Transfer to plates, drizzle sauce over and serve.
