  1. Basmati rice - 2 cup

  2. Onion - 2

  3. Tomatoes (ripe) - 3

  4. Green chillies - 2

  5. Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp

  6. Chilli powder - 1 tsp

  7. Mint leaves -1/4cup

  8. coriander leaves - 1/4cup

  9. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp

  10. curd - 1/2 cup

  11. Coconut milk - 1 cup

  12. To season:

  15. Cardamom - 2

  16. Ghee (clarified butter) - 2 tsp

  17. Oil - 1 tsp

  18. To prepare cola:

  19. Snake gourd-1/4 cup

  20. Beans- 1/4cup

  21. Cabbage - 1/4 cup

  22. Roasted Bengal gram dhal - 1/2 cup

  23. Coriander leaves - 1/4cup

  24. Oil - 3tsp

  25. Salt - to taste

  26. To paste:

  27. Shallots - 4

  28. Garlic(cloves) - 4

  29. Green chillie-1

  30. red chillie - 1

  31. Ginger - 2 (small piece)

  32. Fennel seeds - 1/2 tsp

  33. Cinnamon-1

  34. Cloves-1

  35. Cardamom - 1

  1. To prepare cola balls:

  2. • Chop the vegetables (if it is either snake gourd/cabbage), add some salt. Mix well and keep it aside for ½ an hour. If beans chop and cook well • Squeeze the vegetable and remove the water. To that vegetable add the ingredients that given to be pasted and prepare a paste. Do not add excess water as it may make the paste watery.

  3. • Powder the roasted Bengal gram dhal and add that to the paste. Add salt to taste and finely chopped coriander leaves.

  4. • Mix like a dough. Prepare small balls and deep fry in hot oil. Cola balls are ready.

  5. To prepare biriyani:

  6. • Wash and soak the rice.

  7. • Chop onion and tomatoes finely.

  8. • In a cooker heat oil and ghee; add cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom fry well.

  9. • Add the sliced onion, salt, turmeric powder. When onion is sautéed well add tomatoes, ginger garlic paste, chilli powder, green chillies, mint and coriander leaves and sauté it.

  10. • To the mixture add curd and allow it to boil for 5 minutes. Then add a cup of coconut milk and 2 cups of water.

  11. • Drain the soaked rice properly, add the rice and required salt to the boiling water and mix well.

  12. • Close the cooker, Cook till 1 whistle.

  13. • Reduce the flame to sim and let it cook for 5 mins.

  14. • After the pressure is removed open the cooker, add the cola balls. Mix well and serve hot.
