  2. 1 pound lean ground beef

  3. 1/2 cup chopped onion

  4. 1/3 cup chopped green bell pepper

  5. 1 clove garlic, minced

  6. 2 teaspoons salt

  7. 4 cups water

  8. 1/2 pound spaghetti, broken into 2-inch pieces, about 2 1/2 cups

  9. 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can tomatoes, cut in bite-size pieces

  10. 3/4 cup ketchup

  11. Grated parmesan cheese

  1. In large deep skillet sprayed with nonstick spray, saute first 4 ingredients.

  2. Sprinkle with salt. Stir in water.

  3. Bring mixture to a boil. Add spaghetti.

  4. Cook, uncovered, for 12 to 15 minutes until spaghetti is tender.

  5. Stir in tomatoes and ketchup. Simmer about 10 minutes to blend flavors.

  6. Pass the Parmesan cheese.
