  1. 1/3 cup white whole wheat flour

  2. 1 teaspoon salt, to taste, optional

  3. 1/2 teaspoons white pepper

  4. 2 teaspoons garlic powder

  5. 2 teaspoons ground sage

  6. 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts

  7. 3 tablespoons canola oil

  8. 4 medium tart apples, sliced thinly

  9. 2 cups apple cider

  10. 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  11. 1 cup whole milk

  1. Apple Cider Chicken Recipe photo by dLife® Mix flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and sage in a shallow pan. Dredge chicken through flour mixture.

  2. Heat oil in large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high; add chicken and brown each side 5 minutes.

  3. In large mixing bowl, whisk cornstarch and milk, then add cider.

  4. Add apple slices and cider mixture to the chicken; simmer, uncovered, until apples are tender, about 20 minutes. The cider should be reduced by half of original volume.

  5. Transfer apple slices and chicken to a serving platter. Serve.
