  2. 1-1/2 cups sugar, divided

  3. 2 eggs

  4. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  5. 2 cups all-purpose flour

  6. 1 teaspoon baking powder

  7. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  8. 1 cup (8 ounces) sour cream

  9. 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips

  10. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  1. Chocolate Chip Cake Recipe photo by Taste of Home In a large bowl, cream butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder and baking soda; add to the creamed mixture alternately with sour cream, beating well after each addition.

  2. Spread half of the batter into a greased 9-in. square baking pan. Sprinkle with the chocolate chips. Combine cinnamon and remaining sugar; sprinkle over chips. Spread with remaining batter.

  3. Bake at 350° for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Yield: 8 servings.
