  1. 4 cups tomatoes -- peeled, seeded and finely chopped

  2. 1 medium red or white onion -- minced

  3. 1 1/2 teaspoons basil (fresh if possible)

  4. 1 teaspoon sugar

  5. 1 can tomato paste -- (6 oz)

  6. 4 garlic cloves -- crushed

  7. 1/4 teaspoon oregano

  8. 1 dash red pepper

  9. 6 - 12 hrs., high about 4 hrs.
