  7. 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  8. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  9. 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

  10. 1/8 teaspoon salt

  11. 6 tablespoons chopped almonds

  12. 1/4 cup flaked coconut

  13. 1/4 cup maraschino cherries, quartered

  1. Cherry Coconut Bars Recipe photo by Taste of Home In a small bowl, combine the flour, butter and confectioners' sugar until smooth. Press into a 9-in. x 5-in. loaf pan coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until set.

  2. For filling, in a small bowl, combine the egg, sugar, flour, vanilla, baking powder and salt. Stir in the almonds, coconut and cherries. Spread over crust.

  3. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 15 minutes on a wire rack. Cut into squares while still warm. Yield: 8 bars.
