  4. 4 egg yolks

  5. 3 cups milk

  6. 1 teaspoon vanilla

  1. Mix all together.

  2. Cook until thick.

  3. Pour into baked pie shell.

  4. Cover with meringue.

  5. Meringue: Beat 3 egg whites until foamy.

  6. Begin adding 6 tablespoons sugar gradually.

  7. Continue beating until mixture is shiny and stiff peaks form.

  8. Brown lightly in 370 degree oven for about 8 minutes.

  9. Watch to prevent burning.
