  1. 1 cup sugar

  2. 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  3. 2 cups milk

  4. 2 eggs , seperated

  5. 1 (8 ounce) package frozen strawberries

  6. 1 tablespoon butter

  7. 1 teaspoon vanilla

  8. vanilla wafer

  1. Mix sugar and flour togather.

  2. Add enough milk to sugar/flour to make paste.

  3. Stir in egg yolks to paste.

  4. Stir in remaining milk.

  5. Cook over double boiler until thick.

  6. Add strawberries.

  7. Cook about 5 minutes.

  8. Remove from heat.

  9. Add butter and vanilla.

  10. Stir.

  11. Line bottom of a 10 cup or 2.5 L bowl with vanilla wafers. (recipe calls for Jackson wafers but I use Nilla brand)

  12. Pour half of strawberry mixture over wafers.

  13. Repeat layers.

  14. May make meringue with egg whites or top with whipped cream.
