  1. 1/2 kilo (1.1 lbs) ground pork

  2. 1/2 cup chopped green onions

  3. 1 cup chopped cabbage (blanched)

  4. 1/2 cup carrots finely minced or grated

  5. 1 tbsp minced garlic

  6. 1 tbsp soy sauce

  7. 1 egg

  8. salt and pepper to taste

  9. dumpling wrappers

  10. dipping sauce:

  11. 1/2 cup soy sauce

  12. 1/4 cup vinegar

  13. 2 tbsp mirin

  14. 1 tbsp sesame oil

  15. 1 tsp sugar

  16. 1 tbsp minced onion

  17. 1 tsp minced ginger

  18. 1 tsp minced garlic

  19. 1 tsp minced green pepper

  1. Combine ingredients in bowl except for the wrapper. Mix well.

  2. Let sit in the ref for a few minutes before wrapping. This would allow the flavors to develop and for easy wrapping.

  3. Take a dumpling wrapper and put a tsp of filling in the middle.

  4. Wipe the edges with some water and fold over. Pinch the edges making sure they adhere.

  5. Crimp the edges for a pretty presentation when they cook.

  6. Heat some cooking oil in a pan. Mix a dash of sesame oil in it and start to brown the bottom of your dumplings.

  7. After browning pour in about 1/2 cup of water. Lower the heat, cover and let steam. You can add more water in case it dried out fast and d dumpling still not done. Steaming would take about 10 minutes.

  8. Just combine all the dipping sauce ingredients in a bowl. Adjust seasoning according to your taste. Serve together with the dumplings and enjoy!
