  1. 2 cups Broccoli pieces

  2. 1 teaspoon Salt

  3. 3 1/2 cup Water

  4. 1 Clove garlic, minced

  5. 1 tablespoon Chicken soup mix

  6. teaspoon Pepper

  7. 1 cup Carrots, sliced

  8. 1 1/2 cup Skim milk

  9. 1 Onion, chopped

  10. cup Flour

  11. cup Barley

  12. 4 ounces Cheddar cheese, diced

  1. Combine all but last 3 ingredients in 3 qt pot. Bring to boil, then simmer 15 minutes till barley is tender.

  2. Mix glour into ½ c milk and add. Add rest of milk.

  3. Cook about five minutes till thickened. Remove from heat and stir in cheese. Cover and let stand 3-5 minutes.
