    1. Cake :

    2. 1 stick, plus

    3. 3 tablespoons unsalted butter

    4. 1 cup sugar

    5. Grated orange peel of 2 oranges

    6. 2 teaspoons baking powder

    7. 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

    8. 1/4 teaspoon salt

    9. 2 large egg s

    10. 2 tablespoons poppy seed s

    11. cup buttermilk , she adds more

    12. 1 3/4 cups flour

    13. Icing:

    14. 1/4 cup orange juice

    15. 1 tablespoon lemon juice

    16. 3 tablespoons sugar

    1. Cake:

    2. Beat butter, sugar, peel, baking powder, salt and salt, very well. Beat in eggs and poppy seed slowly. Slowly pour in buttermilk, blend. Add flour, just until blended. Pour in 9-inch round pan.

    3. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes or until pick comes out clean. Let cool 10 minutes in pan. Poke holes with a toothpick.

    4. Icing:

    5. Combine powdered sugar, vanilla, cream or milk. Stir well.
