  2. 1/4 cup shortening

  3. 1/3 cup sugar

  4. 1/3 cup packed brown sugar

  5. 1 egg

  6. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  7. 1 cup all-purpose flour

  8. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  9. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  10. 2/3 cup chopped dried apricots

  11. 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

  12. 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

  1. Apricot Chip Cookies Recipe photo by Taste of Home In a large bowl, cream the butter, shortening and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine the flour, salt and baking soda; gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in the apricots, chocolate chips and walnuts.

  2. Drop by tablespoonfuls 2-in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375° for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks to cool. Yield: about 3 dozen.
