  2. 1 Cup butter or margarine -- softened

  3. 2/3 Cup sugar

  4. 1/2 Cup chocolate flavored syrup

  5. 2 eggs

  6. 1 Teaspoon vanilla

  7. 2 1/3 Cups flour

  8. 2 Teaspoons baking powder

  9. 1 Teaspoon salt

  10. 1/4 Cup milk

  11. peanut halves or cashews

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Blendin chocolate syrup. Add eggs, 1 at a time beating well after each addition.

  2. Blend in vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add dry ingredientsalternately with milk to chocolate mixture, beating well after eachaddition.

  3. Cover and chill 1 hour. Drop batter by heaping teaspoonfuls onto a greasedbaking sheet. Press 4 peanut halves into each cookie. Bake at 375~F. for 10to12 minutes or until centers spring back when lightly touched. Cool on hebaking sheet 2 minutes; transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
