  1. 2 Italian-style sausages , skins removed

  2. oil

  3. 1 onion , chopped

  4. 1 garlic clove , chopped

  5. 1/2 tsp fennel seeds

  6. a pinch chilli flakes

  7. 1 x 400g tin cherry tomatoes

  8. 300ml stock

  9. 1 x 400g tin borlotti beans , drained and rinsed

  10. 100g green beans , trimmed and cut in half

  1. Roll the sausagemeat into little balls. Heat a non-stick frying pan sprayed or brushed with oil and brown the meatballs until golden and any oil is released. Remove the sausage and add the onion, garlic and fennel seeds to the pan, along with the chilli flakes and some seasoning. Cook for 5 minutes and then add the cherry tomatoes with 300ml water or stock. Bring to a simmer and add the beans and meatballs.

  2. Cook for 10 minutes and then add the green beans. Cook for another 5 minutes until beans are just tender, then serve.
