  1. Canned chickpeas 2 cups

  3. Tomato 1

  4. Chopped

  5. Crushed garlic 1 clove

  6. Grated ginger 1/2 tsp.

  7. Coriander powder 2 tsp.

  8. Chilli powder 1 tsp.

  9. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp

  10. Green chilli 1

  11. Slit

  12. Green coriander 2 tbsp.

  13. Crushed cardamom 2

  14. Bay leaf 1

  15. Lemon juice 2 tsp.

  16. Oil 2 tbsp.

  17. Salt to taste.

  1. Place oil in a microwave proof dish, add chopped onions and microwave on High for 1 minute.

  2. Add crushed garlic, grated ginger, chilli powder, turmeric powder, green chilli and tomato, cook on High for 2 minutes.

  3. Add the chick peas and half the liquid from the can, crushed cardamom and bay leaf. Cook covered on High for 6 minutes. Add lemon juice and salt 4. Remove the bay leaf and serve warm with Indian bread
