  1. 1 pack Chaat puris

  2. 2 cups dry peas

  3. 3-4 green chillies

  4. 1 inch cinnamon stick

  5. 3-4 cloves garlic

  6. 11/2 inch ginger

  7. 1 finely chopped onion

  8. 1 grated carrot

  9. 1 finely chopped tomato

  10. 1/2 bunch finely chopped cilantro

  11. 1 tsp garam masala powder

  12. 1 tsp chaat masala powder

  13. 1 tsp cumin powder

  14. 1/2 tsp pepper powder

  15. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder(if needed)

  16. yogurt

  17. tamarind sweet chutney

  18. Black salt

  19. Sev

  20. 4-5 tsp oil

  21. salt to taste

  1. Soak dry peas overnight or 7-8 hours.

  2. Pressure cook soaked peas with little bit salt for 1 or 2 whistles and drain the peas. Save the water for grinding.

  3. Divide the peas into two equal parts.

  4. Grind together one half of peas, ginger, garlic, green chillies, 1 tsp cilantro, cinnamon with water to form a fine paste.

  5. Heat oil in a pan and add the ground paste.

  6. Add garam masala and chaat masala to it, mix well and heat it for 4-5 minutes.

  7. Now add the other half of the peas, cumin powder, pepper powder, salt and water to form a medium concistancy gravy. Heat it for about 10 minutes. Turn off the heat.

  8. On a serving plate, break 5-6 puris. Add the gravy, sweet chutney, chaat masala, Black salt, little yogurt, onion, tomato, carrot, cilantro and sev.

  9. Serve immediately.
