  1. 3 1/2 pounds chuck roast

  2. 2 tablespoons oil

  3. 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  4. 2 tablespoons beef drippings

  5. salt And pepper

  6. 1 cup tomato sauce

  7. 1/4 tablespoon flour ; (for gravy )

  8. 3/4 cup water ; (for gravy )

  1. Rub cut surface of the meat with garlic powder.

  2. Brown roast in 2 tablespoons oil in cooker, reserved drippings.

  3. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

  4. Add tomato sauce.

  5. Cover, place in a 350°F oven for 2-3 hours.

  6. Remove meat.

  7. Put the pan over a burner and heat gently.

  8. Mix flour and cold water, when drippings come to a boil slowly add flour mixture to drippings, stirring constantly until you get the right thickness.
