  1. 3 cup(s) water or beef broth

  2. 1 teaspoon(s) salt

  3. 1 teaspoon(s) black pepper

  4. 1 teaspoon(s) oregano

  5. 1 teaspoon(s) basil

  6. 1 teaspoon(s) onion salt

  7. 1 teaspoon(s) parsley

  8. 1 teaspoon(s) garlic powder

  9. 1 whole(s) bay leaf

  10. 2 package(s) dry Italian salad dressing mix , .

  11. 7 oz. each 2 1/2 pound(s) chuck roast , original recipe says

  12. 5 lb.

  1. Combine water(beef broth) and all ingredients except roast in saucepan and stir well. Bring to boil.

  2. Place roast in crockpot and pour salad dressing mixture over the meat.

  3. Cover & cook on low 8-10 hrs or on high 4-5 hrs. When done, remove bay leaf and shred meat with fork. (can remove meat after 8 hrs, shred and return to pot for 1 1/2 hrs more)
