  1. 1 1/2 cup Buttermilk baking mix

  2. 1/2 cup Quick-cooking oats

  3. 1 1/2 cup Unsweetened Apple Sauce; divided

  4. 1/3 cup Sugar

  5. 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon

  6. 1 Egg

  7. 1 teaspoon Vanilla

  8. 2 tablespoons Margarine or butter; softened

  9. 1/3 cup Coconut OR 1/3 cup chopped nuts

  10. 1/3 cup Quick-cooking oats

  11. 2 tablespoons Brown sugar

  12. 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon

  13. 2 tablespoons Margarine; softened

  1. TOPPING CAKE: Heat oven to 350F. Grease 8-inch round pan. In large bowl, combine baking mix, oats, ¾ cup apple sauce, sugar, cinnamon, egg, vanilla and margarine. Stir vigorously for 1 minute; spread into prepared pan. Bake at 350F for 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Immediately spread with remaining apple sauce; sprinkle with Topping. Broil, 5 inches from heat source, 3 minutes or until golden. Serve warm or cool. *TOPPING: Combine coconut, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon and softened margarine. Notes: Pantry: Mott's Natural Apple Sauce.
