  1. 1 small onion, chopped

  2. 2 tablespoons plus 1-1/2 teaspoons butter

  3. 1 cup uncooked instant rice

  4. 1 cup water

  5. 1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules

  6. 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

  7. 1/4 teaspoon pepper

  8. 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

  9. Fresh marjoram sprig and shaved Parmesan cheese, optional

  1. Parmesan Rice Pilaf Recipe photo by Taste of Home In a small saucepan, saute onion in butter until tender. Stir in the rice, water, bouillon, garlic powder and pepper; bring to a boil.

  2. Remove from the heat; cover and let stand for 5 minutes. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese. Garnish with a sprig of marjoram and shaved Parmesan cheese if desired. Yield: 2 servings.
