  2. 4 tablespoons margarine

  3. 1 cup sugar

  4. 1 egg

  5. 1 cup flour

  6. 1 teaspoon baking soda

  7. 1 teaspoon cinnamon -- ground

  8. 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg -- ground

  9. 1 pinch salt

  10. 1 teaspoon vanilla

  11. 2 cups apples -- finely chopped

  12. 1/2 cup pecans -- chopped

  1. Cream margarine and sugar; add egg; sift in dry ingredients and add. Add vanilla, nuts, and apples. Pour into a greased and floured 8 inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Serve with topping of whipped cream or ice cream.
