Chocolate Covered Cherry Bars Recipe

1 1/2 cups sugar

1/2 cup butter melted

2 ounces unsweetened chocolate melted and cooled

1 tsp. vanilla

2 eggs

1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 cup milk

1 6 ounce pkg (1 cup) semisweet chocolate pieces

1/2 cup sweeteded condensed milk

Drain Cherries, reserving 1/3 cup juice. Place cherries in food processor bowl and chop till coarsly chopped. (I'd just do it by hand)

1 minute at med speed. Stir together flour, baking powder, and dash of salt. Add to chocolate mixture alternately with milk. MIxing well after each addition. Spread Batter in a greased and floured

15x10x1" baking pan. Sprinkle with chopped cherries.

350 F oven for 25 to 30 minutes or til a wooden toothpick comes out clean. Cool on wire rack. Spray a thin knife with nonstick spray coating; wipe off excess. Use knife to cut chocolate mixture into squares.

Makes 48 squares
