  1. Salad:

  2. 8 cups torn mixed salad greens

  3. 2 medium Fuji apples, halved, cored and sliced 1/8-inch thick

  4. 1/3 cup crumbled blue cheese

  5. 1/4 cup coarsely chopped toasted walnuts

  6. Vinaigrette:

  7. 3 tablespoons olive oil

  8. 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

  9. 2 teaspoons Dijon-style mustard

  10. 1 clove garlic, crushed

  11. 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper, to taste

  1. In large bowl, combine salad greens and apple slices. Add vinaigrette tosalad; toss gently to coat. Arrange salad on large platter; sprinklewith cheese and walnuts.

  2. In small bowl, whisk together; set aside.
