  1. 4 lbs 1816g / 64oz Beef short ribs - trimmed

  2. Excess fat and cut Crosswise no more than 3/8

  3. To 1/2" thick

  4. 2/3 cup 41g / 1.4oz Thinly sliced green onions

  5. 1/2 cup 118ml Soy sauce

  6. 1/2 cup 118ml Water

  7. 1/4 cup 59ml Oriental dark roasted

  8. Sesame oil

  9. 2 1/2 tablespoons 37ml Packed brown sugar

  10. 1 1/2 tablespoons 22ml Toasted sesame seeds

  11. 1 tablespoon 15ml Minced garlic

  12. 1 tablespoon 15ml Grated fresh ginger root

  13. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Ground red pepper

  14. 1/8 teaspoon 0.6ml Szechuan peppercorns - freshly ground

  15. Fresh red chili peppers

  16. Green onions

  17. Radish roses

  1. Combine sliced green onions, soy sauce, water, sesame oil, brown sugar, sesame seeds, garlic, ginger, red pepper and Szechuan peppercorns.

  2. Place ribs and marinade in plastic bag or utility dish, turning to coat. Close bag securely or cover dish; marinate in refrigerator 4 to 6 hours, turning occasionally.

  3. Remove ribs from marinade; reserve marinade. Place ribs on grid over medium coals.

  4. Broil 5 to 6 minutes. Turn ribs over; brush or spoon on marinade 1 time. Cover; continue cooking 5 to 6 minutes or until desired degree of doneness.

  5. Place ribs on platter; garnish with chili peppers, green onions and radish roses.
