  1. 1 lb 454g / 16oz Extra large raw shrimp - in the shell

  2. 1 lb 454g / 16oz Onion - , sliced (small)

  3. 1 Fresh ginger - , sliced

  4. 1 Garlic - , mashed

  5. 1/4 cup 59ml Soy sauce

  6. 1 cup 237ml Lemon - , juiced (medium)

  7. 1/3 cup 78ml Red wine vinegar

  8. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Salt - , or to taste

  9. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Freshly ground black pepper

  10. 1 tablespoon 15ml Sugar

  11. 1 1/2 cups 355ml Salad oil

  1. Shell and clean the shrimp (this is easily done with scissors). Leave shrimp raw.

  2. Combine remaining ingredients and place shrimp in this marinade for at least 2 to 3 hours.

  3. Drain shrimp and place on metal or bamboo skewers, 2 to 3 shrimp on each.

  4. Place on a barbecue grill or under the broiler for about 2 minutes on each side.
