  1. 1 kg mutton

  2. cup yogurt

  3. 1tsp turmeric powder

  4. 1tbsp oil

  5. 2 pieces cinnamons

  6. 1/2 tsp fennel seeds

  7. 10 black pepper

  8. 15 cloves of garlic

  9. 5 pieces of ginger

  10. 15 green chilies (split)

  11. 1 1/2 cup water

  12. For Rice:

  13. 500 gms basmati rice (washed and drained water)

  14. 3tbsp butter

  15. 2tbsp oil

  16. 3 cinnamon (sticks)

  17. 4 bay leaves

  18. 4 cardamoms

  19. 4 cloves

  20. 4 green chilies (slit)

  21. 2 onions (chopped)

  22. 1 tbsp biryani masala

  23. 1/2tsp turmeric

  24. 1tbsp mint leaves (chopped)

  25. 1tbsp coriander leaves (chopped)

  26. Salt as per taste

  27. 1 cup lamb stock

  28. 1 cup coconut milk

  29. 1 cup water

  30. 1tsp lemon juice

  1. Take the meat in a bowl

  2. Put ½ cup of yogurt and ½ of turmeric powder

  3. Mix them well

  4. Marinade the mutton for 1 hour

  5. Heating up 1tbsp of oil in a pan

  6. Put cinnamon, fennel seeds, black pepper, cloves and cardamoms in the hot oil

  7. When the nice aroma come out add the green chilies, ginger and garlic

  8. Fry everything together for few minutes

  9. Put them it blender and make a fine paste

  10. biryani masala is ready

  11. Heating up 1tbsp of oil in a 2.5 liter pressure cooker

  12. Add the marinated mutton in the hot oil

  13. Now put the already made 2tbsp paste

  14. Mix them well and cook for few minutes

  15. Now add 1.5 cup of water, 1/2tsp of turmeric powder and salt as per taste

  16. Mix them well and close the lid of the pressure cooker

  17. Cook the mutton about 10-15 minutes still 3-4 whistles

  18. When the mutton is cooked separate the stock form it

  19. Now take a 7 liter pressure cooker

  20. Put 3tbsp of butter and 2tbsp of oil in the pressure cooker and let it become hot

  21. Put bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, cloves and cardamoms

  22. Now add 3-4 green chilies

  23. Put chopped onions

  24. Now fry them all till the onions become transparent

  25. Add 1tbsp of the earlier made paste

  26. Add 1/2tsp of turmeric powder

  27. Mix altogether well

  28. Now add the basmati rice and mix well

  29. Fry the basmati rice for few minutes

  30. Now put the chopped coriander and mint leaves

  31. Fry rice for another 2-3 minutes

  32. Now add salt as per taste and mix well

  33. Pour the 1cup meat stock, 1 cup coconut milk and 1 cup of water now

  34. Mix altogether and close the lid of the pressure cooker

  35. Cook the rice till 2 whistles on high flame

  36. The rice is ready now

  37. Add coriander and mint leaves and lemon juice with the meat

  38. Mix altogether well

  39. Now make layers with the rice and meat

  40. The first layer will be rice

  41. Then put the mutton pieces and spread

  42. Then again put rice over the meat

  43. And again the meat and spread

  44. Last layer will be rice again

  45. Now cover the pressure cooker and cook the biryani for 5-10 minutes in low flame

  46. Green chili mutton biryani is ready

  47. Serve it with eggs and raita
